Another day.
Another moment that passes.
Watching and waiting;
hoping for some sort relief,
wanting the world to return to before,
but the people on the screen,
the people running the show,
say it will take months;
if not years,
for the deadly virus to pass.
No hugging.
No kissing.
No touch whatsoever.
No school.
No church;
or temple,
or festive gatherings.
We can’t experience birth;
or the process death,
because of Covid.
We can’t express joy
through dancing,
because of Covid.
We can’t watch a movie,
watch a game,
witness a play,
because of Covid.
We can’t travel,
or explore the beauties of this world,
because of Covid.
And,
- because we can’t travel,
- because we can’t cuddle,
- because we can’t go out to play,
I’ll just sit here,
and wait.
I’ll wait it out,
until it passes.
With eager anticipation,
nerves,
and fear,
I wait.......
No hugging.
No kissing.
No touch whatsoever.
No school.
No church;
or temple,
or festive gatherings.
I’ll just wait.......
